Elasmo Week showcases sharks, skates, rays, and even chimaeras, although we have to go from Elasmobranchs to Chondrichthyans to include chimaeras! We aim to highlight scientists from all over the globe and of various backgrounds! Amazing science work is being done everywhere and we want to share that with the public!
Elasmo Week is an outreach event about the science of elasmobranchs (sharks, skates, and rays) and the scientists who study them. This week is all about diversity! The goal is to highlight the diversity of the scientists, the many ways of doing elasmobranch research, and to show off as many weird and wonderful species as possible every year! Elasmo Week wants to make a platform where real scientists can share their love and work with the public.
